In her acceptance speech, Ms. Geingos highlighted Namibia's success in the fight against HIV and highlighted how structural inequalities can undermine gains if social and economic empowerment approaches are not achieved. integrated. She also pointed out that Namibia was on track to meet the goals of UNAIDS 90-90-90 by 2020 with the recent assessment of the impact of HIV on the population in Africa. Geingos attributed this success to the value of global solidarity and investment, coupled with Namibia's commitment to national funding for its response to HIV.

Ms. Geingos dedicated her award to the #BeFree Movement and acknowledged that its recognition was a timely reminder that a true integration of young people brings real added value to the formulation and implementation of policies.
"Today's young people are the generation that will end AIDS, let them lead the way," she added.
Currently, the national contribution of the government represents 65% of the country's response to HIV.
