Five things we learned in the Falc's 34-29 win over Bucs

Quarterback Matt Ryan made three touchdown passes to lead the Falcons to a 34-29 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Falcons improved to 2-4 on the season. The Bucs have fallen to 2-3.

Ryan completed 31 of 41 passes for 354 yards. He finished with a passer rating of 125.5.

With the game in the balance, 43-year-old Matt Bryant scored a 57-yard goal at the last minute. He was kicked with an apparent injury to the hamstring. He was taken to the cloakroom.

The Falcons were not clear until quarterback Jameis Winston of the Bucs runs a scrambling game, sent back wide receiver Mike Evans, who tries to do it at DeSean Jackson, but the ball falls out of bounds with the time.

Here are the five things we learned from victory:

1. Fancy pass: Ryan made two touchdown passes in the first half to advance to 15th on the list of touchdown passes, tied with Joe Montana at 273.

Ryan threw a 35-yard pass to Mohamed Sanu in the first quarter and a 9-yard touchdown pass to Austin Hooper in the second quarter to give the Falcons a 21-6 lead over Tampa Bay.

He moved Montana pass with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Tevin Coleman in the fourth quarter.

Vinny Testaverde is next for Ryan with 275 touchdowns, then Johnny Unitas with 290.

Montana, a member of the Professional Football Hall of Fame, played from 1979 to 1994 with the 49ers and Chiefs. He led the 49ers to four Super Bowl titles in the 1980s.

Sanu's touchdown was a clever tug after Ryan rigged the ball to Coleman and Calvin Ridley.

He contacted Sanu, who was crossing a crossing road, at the 20-yard line. Sanu shot the ball up the court and crushed goalie Justin Evans on the 3-yard line before diving into the end zone.

2. Swimming poole: Falcons back Brian Poole, who hit Winston in the second quarter and started a riot, played two key games in the third quarter.

He lost wide receiver Buccaneers Adam Humphries on a crossover road that resulted in a 51-yard gain.

With a score of 24-13 and the Bucs threatening to score, Poole managed a big interception in the end zone. Winston tried to force a pass for Chris Godwin. The pass hit linebacker Duke Riley at the back and appeared. Poole came from the slot where he defended a half-point in the 2-yard line and made the interception.

3. The defense has two choices: The Falcons' defense continued to give way. The Bucs have become the fourth team to amass more than 400 yards total against the Falcons this season.

Interceptions by Free Security Damontae Kazee and Poole helped end two deep-lying possessions on the Falcons' territory.

Peyton Barber, who played at Milton High and Auburn, had 82 yards, including a 28-yard gain.

The Falcons gave the Eagles 232 yards in the opening game of the season.

The Panthers (439), Saints (534), Bengals (407) and Steelers (381) all moved the ball over the Falcons.

New Orleans, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh all scored five touchdowns against the Falcons. The Bucs scored four touchdowns and amassed a total of 499 yards.

4. NFC South: The Saints are in first place at 4-1. They had a goodbye this week. The Falcons are now three and a half games late with 10 to play. The Panthers lost 23-17 against the Redskins and now have 3-2.

5. Update injuries: Ridley left the game due to an ankle injury in the second quarter and did not return.

Sanu left the game due to a hip injury in the third quarter and did not return.

In addition, defensive tackle Jack Crawford left the game with a neck / head injury. He returned to the game and had a bag in the third quarter.

Ridley made three catches for 47 yards before leaving. He entered the match by leading the Falcons to six.
