"So you did not believe her?" asked "The View's" Sunny Hostin, referring to Ford, a California professor who accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were both in high school. Kavanaugh vehemently denied the claim.
"No, I do not know, I do not know," Flake said. "I do not know if I believe him."
Flake finally voted to confirm Kavanaugh.
On September 27, Ford and Kavanaugh testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which Flake is a member.
"She was very compelling," Flake said. "He was very persuasive I do not know I do not know I wish I had the certainty that some of my colleagues expressed."
"But I said on the (Senate) floor before that we're likely to leave the door open for certainty," Flake continued, "and that's what I felt afterwards."
On Tuesday, Flake said he would have liked "a broader investigation than it was" that it was thorough, "and he added," I wish the country could have read that report. "
On October 6, the Senate voted 50-48 to confirm Kavanaugh to the nation's highest court.
Flake defended Kavanugh's "stellar" judicial record during Tuesday's appearance and said the nominee "was a model of decorum and decency, and I think that should count for something."
