Pythagoras and Aristotle said it thousands of years ago. Today, if you ask just about any piece of adults (or children) what the planet is about, you will hear the same answer.
But not if this room is full of attendees at the second annual Flat Earth International Conference, held this week in Denver, Colorado, to bring together skeptics from around the world. Hundreds of conspiracy theorists for a flat Earth came to participate in this two-day event, reports KDVR.
"Look with your own eyes," implored Dorothy Novak, a believer of the flat Earth, according to the television channel. "Go out to the beach in cloudy weather. Are clouds curved?
Participants were drawn to the meeting for a program of presentations, debates and discussions – from "Women in Flat Earth" to "Flat Earth & The Moon". But perhaps more than anything else, convention attendees gathered in the hope of finding animated thinkers Thursday and Friday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, near the Denver Airport.
"I'm not ashamed," conference moderator Rick Hummer said, encouraging participants to sing in unison on Thursday, the Denver Post announced. "I'm not ashamed of ridicule. I am not ashamed of the mockery. I am not ashamed of insults. "
One of the speakers at the convention, YouTube personality Rob Skiba, has issued a warning to those who question the conspiracy theory on which the convention is based, according to the Post.
"Never forget," Skiba advised the believers of the sphere, "we were yourself".
Charles Whitehead came from New Jersey to the conference and said that he initially thought that the flat Earth theory was absurd – until he heard the rapper B.O.B. calls into question the huge scientific consensus on the issue, according to the Post.
Now, Whitehead is also a flatter flat.

Last year, the Flat Earth convention was held in Cary, North Carolina, News & Observer reported – and the event was full with about 500 participants.
"The earthlings believe that our planet is shaped like a frisbee and still hovers in space," wrote Josh Shaffer of News & Observer. Google's interest in the search terms "Flat Earth" began to increase in 2015 and 2016, especially at the time of B.o.B. tweeted about conspiracy theory, according to a chart of Google trends. Robbie Davidson of Kryptoz Media organized the Denver rally, reports the Post.
"If my future self came to me and said we would have a conference with so many people, I would have slapped myself," he said, according to the newspaper.
