Heads up, pet owners: The US Food and Drug Administration warned Thursday that some flea and tick medications could potentially cause "undesirable neurological events" in dogs and cats.
The warning applies to drugs of the class of isoxazoline, the FDA said. Pet owners who are currently treating their four-legged friend with Bravecto, Nexgard or Simparica should be wary, as some animals treated with these medications "have experienced adverse events such as muscle tremors, ataxia and seizures" .
"Another product of this class, Credelio, has recently been approved by the FDA. These products are approved for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations, as well as for the treatment and control of tick infestations, "the FDA continues.
