After a full day of constant rain on Sunday, new rains arrive today, with flood warnings and watches remaining in effect in the area.
This morning, a flood warning is in effect until 11:30 am for all or part of the counties of Dauphin, Cumberland, York and Lancaster. According to the National Weather Service, some areas may experience flooding, including Harrisburg, Carlisle, Lower Allen, Mechanicsburg, Middletown, Camp Hill and New Cumberland.
About 2 to 4 inches of rain has already fallen over a large part of the region and these heavy rains could cause flooding as streams and creeks inflate.
When flood monitoring will expire later in the morning, much of the state will remain under flood monitoring until 8 pm.
Another inch of rain and thunderstorms are expected today as the remains of tropical storm Gordon move slowly across the state. Expect a maximum of 71 and a minimum of 66.
Tuesday will see a 40 percent probability of continued downpours, mainly before 9am, during a cloudy day with a high of 77 and a low of 65.
Wednesday will be cloudy with scattered showers with a maximum of 81 and a minimum of 70.
On Thursday the weather will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms and a maximum of 83 and a minimum of 70.
Friday should be mostly cloudy with 40% chance of scattered showers, 79 and 67.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy with 30 percent chance of scattered showers. Expect a maximum of 79 and a minimum of 66.
And Sunday is expected to be another mostly cloudy day with a maximum of 78 and 40 percent chance of scattered showers.
