Parts of the old city of Alexandria are flooded after heavy rains in recent days.

Officials said they would hand out sandbags Monday starting at 7:30, in the King and Lee streets of the old city. Residents and businesses will be able to get up to five bags.

With heavy rains in the area over the weekend, the lowlands near the Potomac River are exposed to floods and high water.

Residents of the area are reminded not to drive or walk in flooded areas.
