Florida Airport is blocked after unauthorized students allegedly took commercial aircraft

A Florida airport was blocked early Thursday after an unauthorized student would have taken a seat in a commercial plane.

Orlando International Airport Melbourne was blocked "until further notice because of police activity," said Melbourne police. "All flights suspended at this time."

An airport official told WESH-TV that an unauthorized student had boarded a commercial aircraft. The student was removed from the aircraft and was questioned, according to the post.

Security sweeps were underway at the airport, the station reported.

Airport officials were looking to reopen sections in the hope of having minimal impact on flights.
