JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Florida service station owner said that she was struggling with a strange problem: customers use the microwave oven to heat their urine.
Parul Patel, owner of a BP gas station and a convenience store in Jacksonville, told WTLV that she was "sick and tired" of "people walking at random [in] and it happens every day. "
According to Patel, the situation got so much worse that she had to post on the microwave a sign saying, "Only for food purposes. Do not warm the urine. "
However, it seems that the problem is not entirely random: the Patel's On the Fly convenience store is located close to LabCorp, which offers drug testing services, according to the website.
"They get so aggressive with us," Patel said.
The inspiration for the sign was an incident with a client who, according to Patel, had begun to curse her by saying that no sign told her that she could not heat the urine in the microwave.
LabCorp did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
