Florida score against LSU: No. 22 Gators stuns No. 5 tigers while defense swarms in the marsh

Florida # 22 surprised LSU 27-19 of No. 5 on Saturday afternoon at The Swamp, taking care of its rival division in an old school party, the SEC. The defensive back of the Gators, Brad Stewart, Jr., fired an interception of quarterback Joe Burrow of the Tigers – the first of his career – 25 yards for a touchdown with a time of 1:45 to sign to seal the deal for the UF team that won its greatest Dan Mullen era victory.

Lamical Perine totaled 85 yards and scored twice on the ground. Offensive back Jordan Scarlett added 14 runs for 65 yards to lead the Gators offensive. Felepe Franks amassed 12 yards out of 27 for a total of 161 yards, one touchdown and one interception, but he did enough to keep the Gators in the game until the defense took over in the fourth quarter.

Leading scorer Nick Brossette led the Tigers with 15 runs for 95 yards and one point. Florida rose to 5-1 (3-1 SEC) the year with the win, while LSU dropped to 5-1 (2-1 SEC).
