Florida had its first flu-related death in the 2018-1919 season.
An anonymous child tested positive for influenza B died September 30 to October 6, the Florida Department of Health's Bureau of Epidemiology reported in a report on the first week of the season. influenza.

The report stated that the deceased child was not vaccinated, but the department did not specify where the death occurred. Before getting the flu, the child was in good health, the report said.

Hillsborough County has only had two influenza outbreaks or the like in the first week of the season, the report says.
