Like Mayweather (50-0, 27 KO's), Nasukawa is undefeated at 27-0 in kick-boxing, with 21 knockouts. He also has a 4-0 mark with two knockouts in MMA. The main difference between the two, aside from their combat disciplines, is age: Mayweather is 41 years old, Nasukawa is only 20 years old.
This has made Nasukawa a fantastic fighter, while Mayweather is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. The possibility exists that their fight could be run according to the rules of the MMA since Mayweather posted a video of himself training in the Octagon.
There had been rumors that Mayweather – who had beaten him for the last time against a conventional boxer in September 2015, when he defeated Andre Berto after his hotly contested game with Manny Pacquiao – would attack Khabib Nurmagomedov. The UFC lightweight champion, who dispatched McGregor last month, said he would be ready to face Mayweather, although UFC President Dana White announced the last week that the veteran boxer would be "crushed" by Nurmagomedov.
The fight against Nasukawa will mark the first time since 2005 that Mayweather competed outside Las Vegas. Another aspect of the fight that remains to be determined is the weight class. Nasukawa beat him at 121 pounds, while Mayweather usually weighed about 150 pounds.
