The flu season is approaching and the Cleveland County Health Department has tips to prevent the spread of the disease. The service also extends its hours of service to encourage the community to get the flu shot.
Anyone over six months old is encouraged to get vaccinated.
The vaccine will be available from Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. and the hours will be extended to 19 hours on Tuesdays in November and December.
In addition to vaccination, people can practice these good habits to prevent diseases:
Cover your nose and mouth with tissues when you cough or sneeze.
– Throw the tissue in the trash quickly after use.
– Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
– Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Sprouts spread this way.
– Stay home if you're sick. You must stay home at least 24 hours after leaving your fever, except for medical attention.
