VOORHEES, NJ – When the Flyers development camp moves to the competition between forwards, defensemen and goalies, everything accelerates.
There is much more to see and improve.
The case Saturday night at Flyers Skate Zone on Day 3 of the 2018 camp.
Let's get into five observations from the moments that came out:
1. Morgan Frost owns unlimited skills. He is a fast, amazing skater with his stick and does not need open space to do any damage.
Frost, the other first-round pick of the Flyers in 2017, has demonstrated his ability to fend off big bodies and make a big failure. Moreover, it is so elusive that sometimes it does not matter.
If Frost was the size of Nolan Patrick (6-2 / 198), he would be in the NHL. But the gel is gaining strength, which is a big sign. Last year he was 172 pounds at the development camp. This year he seems more fulfilled and says that he came to Voorhees at 184 (see article) .
There is no shortage in many other areas. Could he surprise at the training camp and flirt with a place? We will see;
But when the Saturday session was over, he gave the fans present a taste of his offensive repertoire by beating goalkeeper Matej Tomek from a handful of shots.

You can see why he scored 112 points in the Ontario League last season .
2. Philippe Myers reminds you of Travis Sanheim at the 2017 Development Camp.
He stands out among the defenders because he is more advanced.
At 21, Myers is composed and comfortable along the boards and he moves the puck well.

Myers is 6 feet 5 inches and his weight is now about 220 pounds. He will have a good chance to make Flyers at some point in the 2018-19 season as a caller candidate if he can stay healthy and prove himself at the American League level.
3. Joel Farabee, last week's 14th pick in the repechage, has an impressive makeup.
For one, the two-way winger is in competition and has a maturity about it at age 18 (see article) .
But it also offers all the offensive tools. The product USNTDP has an excellent conscience and instincts to follow its well-considered shot.
It will be fun to follow next season at Boston University.

4. A discreetly impressive defender? Wyatt Kalynuk, a 2017 seventh-round pick who plays in Wisconsin
He's solid and stays ahead of the fronts who are much faster and smaller. Repeatedly in 1-on-1 drills, he interrupted the games with a kick, not allowing the attackers to go deep or shoot.
Two of those occasions were against Farabee and another that he defended well. against the first round pick of 2016 German Rubtsov.
5. If you are participating in the development camp on Sunday or Monday, keep an eye on number 59.
This is the defender Mark Friedman, who has a robust and complete style . It seemed like he was hitting somebody over all the other exercises
If you like the physical mark of hockey, the Phantoms defender is the player to watch in this camp.
