Ford issued four safety reminders in North America on recent models of its best-selling SUVs and trucks, suggesting that consumers hand over vehicles to dealers for overhaul, repair or replacement to avoid any risk of accident. injury.

The alert applies to the 2018 Ford Explorer, the 2019 Ford Super Duty, the 2018 Ford Expedition, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator and the 2019 Nautilus.

"As part of our quality process, we identify and resolve issues quickly on behalf of our customers, and we recognize the inconvenience caused by recalls," Ford spokeswoman Elizabeth Weigandt told Detroit Free Press on Friday. . "However, customers also know that these actions help to ensure their safety and improve quality and satisfaction. We are absolutely committed to launching high quality products and solving problems when we see them."

The company said it was unaware of any accidents, injuries or fires related to the most recent recall vehicles.

In October, Ford recalled about 1.3 million Ford Focus vehicles due to stall without notice. Feeding and blocking system problems were detected from 2012 to 2018 with two-liter four-cylinder engines. Customers were asked to keep the fuel tanks at least half full because the gauges may not work properly.

"Even though no reminder is ideal, and certainly never the goal, they are almost inevitable if we consider the complexity of these vehicles," said Rebecca Lindland, senior analyst at Kelley Blue Book. .

"Whatever the size, the range or the product, it is the manufacturer's response to the recall and the level of inconvenience to the owner, which are recalled," she said.

The most recent Ford recalls have an impact on:

Ford Expedition & # 39; 18, Lincoln Navigator

Approximately 38,000 vehicles equipped with center seats in the second row may not have J-profile reinforcements in the seat rail. A seat rail missing one or both of the J channel reinforcement brackets may not properly restrain the seat during an accident, increasing the risk of injury.

Dealers will inspect the seats to determine if the two J-channel brackets are installed. If one or both supports are missing, dealers will replace the center seat frame at no cost to customers. While waiting for the vehicle to be repaired in this regard, customers should store the seat as far as possible from the front of the vehicle.
