Forecasters watch 2 storms that could impact the east of the PA

Forecasters are providing up-to-date information on two storms that could impact eastern Pennsylvania from this weekend until next week.

The remains of Tropical Storm Gordon are expected to move northeast this weekend, leaving rain and thunderstorms in its wake. What remains of Gordon will likely pass west and northwest Sunday and Monday, the National Weather Service said in its scheduled interview Friday.

But we will not have to wait for Gordon to get wet. Starting on Friday, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall and localized floods. Heavy rains could continue Saturday and during the weekend; a dangerous meteorological perspective has been issued.

In fact, despite what is happening with tropical storm Florence (more details below), we expect a rain every day until the end of next week, the NWS predicts.

It will be cooler, though.

According to the NWS, a secondary cold front will push south of our region on Saturday, lowering temperatures to a high in the 1970s. "Temperatures will remain quite cold Sunday due to rain and cloud cover as well as wind from The highs should be mainly between the mid-1960s and the 1970s, "said the NWS.

As mentioned above, another storm could occur and cause additional problems for the region.

Florence, which has been downgraded to a tropical storm for the moment, could have an impact on the region at the end of next week. The National Hurricane Center said the storm is expected to strengthen over the weekend, but its current territory and impacts are not yet known.

"The production of predictive models continues to be quite variable, but the broad consensus shows that it affects our region at a late stage of the new week," the NWS says on Mt. Holly, N.J. said.

The National Hurricane Center announced Friday that the risk of the East Coast experiencing a direct impact from Florence has increased. However, it is still too early to determine the exact location, magnitude and timing of storm impacts.

"Interests close to and along the east coast of the United States should monitor Florence's progress throughout the weekend and make sure they have put in place their hurricane plans," the Center said. National Hurricane.
