Running back C.J. Fuller, a member of the Clemson NCAA Championship football team for the 2016 season, has passed away.

Gill Payne, athletic director at Easley High School, where Fuller had played, confirmed the death.

Fuller, 22, played at Clemson from 2014 to 2017 before cumulating 599 rushing yards in 147 assists with five touchdowns over the next three seasons. He also collected 290 yards on 17 career kick returns.

In February, Fuller announced that he would be transferred to another school for his last season of eligibility.

Fuller was arrested on March 28 with Jadar Johnson, former Clemson teammate, and Quaven Ferguson, a former high school teammate, and charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon when committing a crime. crime by Clemson police.
