CLEVELAND, Ohio – Former ESPN presenter, Jemele Hill, has a new concert.
Hill, who made the headlines last year for calling President Donald Trump "white supremacist", joins The Atlantic as an editor.
"I am very pleased to announce that the excellent Jemele Hill joins The Atlantic as an editor," said the editor of the publication, Jeffrey Goldberg. "It will cover the intersection of sport, race, politics, gender and culture for us.Welcome, Jemele."
The Atlantic said Hill would begin next month and would be based in the company's new office in Los Angeles.
Hill has established itself as a rising star on ESPN, co-anchoring a renewed and more personality-driven edition of the network's flagship, "SportsCenter". She has however encountered problems with some viewers after her tweets on Trump and the treatment of controversy by the NFL's national anthem.
She was suspended for two weeks for violating the network's social networking policy and eventually left "SportsCenter" to write for The Undefeated, ESPN's vertical focused on sport, race and culture.
Since his departure, ESPN has made "SportsCenter" a more traditional show, with more sports and fewer jokes.
