Former President George W. Bush greets service dog named Sully, shows Bill Clinton socks

Former President George H. W. Bush welcomed the company on Monday, one being a presidential visitor, and the other one who will remain as a new family member.

The 94-year-old dog lover and his new service dog – a yellow Labrador retriever named Sully – got acquainted on Monday at Bush's precinct on the coast in Maine.

Sully had been trained by VetDogs of America, a nonprofit organization that provides service dogs.

Evan Sisley, Bush's advisor, said the dog – who is caught in Bush – can open doors, pick up things and ask for help, but "more than anything, the dog will be a wonderful companion ".

Bush also greeted one of his former competitors.

Former Democratic President Bill Clinton visited Bush on Monday at his home in Kennebunkport.

A photo posted on Twitter shows the 41st and 42nd presidents of the nation sharing a moment while Bush shows a pair of "Bill Clinton socks".

Clinton ended Bush's re-election plans in 1992, but Bush and his son, former President George W. Bush, are now friends with Clinton.

The elder Bush likes to wear colorful socks and wear socks with books to honor his late wife's commitment to literacy at his funeral.

Barbara and George Bush married for 73 years before his death on April 17 in Texas.
