This is a serious royal twinning!
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently came to coordinate the flower sets during their visit to Fiji. The royal-style observers immediately noticed something about the couple's look.
Their outfits were almost identical to those worn by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2012, when they visited the nearby Solomon Islands.
Prince Harry and Prince William wore very similar dark trousers and blue shirts in the tropical atmosphere. The two duchesses wore bright floral dresses with touches of magenta and orange.
Of course, their appearance was not 100% identical. Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, wore a strapless dress, while Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, wore a more fluid dress with long sleeves.
Her baby bump was just visible under the Fig silk wrap dress. The more conservative cut of the dress was counterbalanced by whimsical details like a pompom-sized tie and a hem of stacked ruffles.
The duchess accessorized a traditional flower garland during her visit to the University of the South Pacific in Suva, the capital of Fiji.
She also wore a pouch that would have been made by local craftswomen and completed the look with her faithful castaner heels, which she had already worn during the tour.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent part of the day together, but they also had several solo engagements.
Prince Harry visited a local national park and also welcomed Fijian and British veterans, while the Duchess attended morning tea, then visited a local market to meet with vendors who were empowered by the project. 39 UN Women, "Markets for Change".
The Duchess's visit to the market was cut short due to apparent security concerns and she left the event after a few minutes.
But she will probably leave soon with Prince Harry for their next engagement – and, who knows, maybe the couple will take other stylistic signals from their royal parents at home!
