Former WFAN animator Craig Carton convicted of all charges of fraud

A federal jury in Manhattan has sentenced Craig Carton, a sports radio personality, for defrauding the late co-host "Boomer and Carton", up to 45 years in prison.

After less than a day of deliberation, the jury of three men and nine women found Carton guilty of all counts, including securities fraud, wire fraud and fraud conspiracy.

Carton looked straight ahead as the jury read the verdict.

The trial lasted about a week and included testimony from hedge fund executives who said they had invested millions of dollars in Carton, including a national tour of Metallica and two concerts by Barbara Streisand.

Documents showed that the money had been used to pay Carton's personal expenses, including his gambling loans.

At the time, Carton was spending a lot of money in the casinos, even going as far as borrowing money from usurers to finance his trips to the casinos, according to testimonials.

Mangione's alleged fake email included minor errors in Mangione's signature section, including the mention of his title as "Chief of Staff" instead of "Chief of Staff", as the shows the government's evidence.

Carton resigned from WFAN's most popular radio show "Boomer and Carton" a week after his arrest.

He currently has a program on the FNTSY sports network called "Carton & Friends".
