OXFORD, Miss. – After a match with 158 penalties combined for unsportsmanlike conduct, the state of Mississippi will have the right to boast of the Ugg Bowl for the next year.

Behind 309 rushing yards and four touchdowns, No. 20 Mississippi State goes to a 35-3 Victory of Egg Bowl against Ole Miss Thursday night. With the win, Mississippi State improved to 8-4, 4-4 in SEC, while Ole Miss finished the season with a 5-7 record.

The spirits ignited for both teams at the end of the third quarter. After Ole Miss wide receiver A.J. Brown, a native of Starkville, seemed to catch a touchdown, the Mississippi State's security, Johnathan Abram, slapped Brown. This led to another fight that broke out between quarterback Ole Miss Matt Corral and Mississippi State defensive back Jamal Peters. The two benches were cleared and three flags were raised. All players on both teams were ultimately fined for unsporting behavior and four players were ejected.

The game that sparked the fight was finally reviewed by the officials and it was determined that Ole Miss had not broken the ball before the end of the third quarter, thus eliminating the touchdown of the board.

The trio of quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, of the state of Mississippi, and half-ends Kylin Hill and Aeris Williams carried the bulk of the charge for the Bulldogs. door for 289 yards. Fitzgerald led the way in his last Egg Bowl, running 18 times for 117 yards and two touchdowns.

Mississippi State exploited the early Rebels' porous race defense, crushing Ole Miss for 122 yards rushing and a touchdown in the first quarter. The Bulldogs finished the first half with an average of 6.8 yards per run with 27 attack attempts, compared to eight attack attempts for a 21-3 lead at halftime.

Ole Miss's offense, on the other hand, failed to find any semblance of success in the first period. The Rebels ran 14 times for a total of 18 yards in the first two quarters, putting them behind the chains and contributing to a 0-7 performance on the third halftime try.

Quarterback Jordan Ta 'amu, Ole Miss, is hand-shot in the first quarter, fumbling with the Bulldogs and establishing the first touchdown of the Mississippi State. Your amu missed the next possession while he was healing the injury and was replaced by freshman Corral, who attempted a pass and completed it for 26 yards.

Your "amu" returned to the game a possession later, but played one of his least-effective games of 2018. Playing in his last match for Ole Miss, Ta 'amu completed eight 17 pass attempts for 87 yards with an interception and a lost fumble.

Corral came back in the middle of the third quarter to finish the match. He finished with five finals for 65 yards and one interception.

The state of Mississippi will learn the fate of its bowl choice on December 2nd. For Ole Miss, the 2018 season ends with the defeat, the fifth consecutive loss of the Rebels.
