Driving in the Detroit subway becomes more and more fun in November.

The last thrill of Mother Nature is the ice fog and her devilish twin: the black ice. If you commute this morning, you must drive with extreme caution, said National Weather Service meteorologist Bryan Tilley.

A dense fog has been reported at the Ohio border to the Detroit metro. It is expected that it will dissipate throughout the morning, but may still linger until around 10 am in the morning.

The thick layer is the result of yesterday's snow melt and moisture. When temperatures suddenly dropped last night, this humidity became an icy fog.

At ground level, moisture also accumulated on the roadways and turned into black ice.

"That's why it's important to be careful in the event of fog at this time of the year." The windshield windshield is the same as a motorist's, but the impact on the road surfacing is very different when it's cold, "Tilley said.

Fog occurs after several weeks of below-average temperatures in November. The maximum of today is about 37 degrees, compared to about 48 degrees in previous years, said Tilley.

A cold front will move to Detroit tonight, which will bring new flurries Tuesday morning. Tonight's minimum is 30 degrees.
