Fuller C. J. died at age 22, no suspicious suspicious game

08h20 PT – A source very close to Fuller tells us that the football star had undergone physical therapy to rehabilitate his knee a few hours before his death … and it was clear that something was wrong.

We were told that Fuller had torn his ACL during a flag football match about 2 weeks ago and had undergone surgery to repair the injury at the end of September.

Fuller started her physical therapy for the first time on Wednesday (10/03) as part of her recovery and completed a full session without problems.

When he returned home, we were told that he "went to the ground" and asked for water – clearly feeling that something was wrong.

People close to C.J. called an ambulance and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead soon after.

There are rumors The death of Fuller is directly related to the complications of knee surgery – but we are told that it has not yet been determined.

We spoke with the coroner who told us that an investigation into the death was underway.

Ex-Clemson running C.J. Fuller – A key player in the 2016 Clemson National Championship team – has passed away, confirmed the school.

He was only 22 years old.

The cause of Fuller's death is not clear. We work at collecting information.

Fuller played 43 games with the Tigers – and turned out to be a talented and knowledgeable on the field. Off the field, Fuller had problems … he was arrested in March for allegedly stealing someone under the threat of a gun in South Carolina.

The coach of Clemon Dabo Swinney issued a statement saying, "Our thoughts, our prayers and our deepest sympathies are with the family of C.J."

"I've known C.J. for a long time and saw him growing up in Easley Recreational Leagues [in South Carolina] throughout Easley High School. I am proud of what he has achieved as a Clemson Tiger, and especially his Clemson Diploma. "

"Our deepest condolences and thoughts of our program are with his family tonight, that he is resting in peace."

Former Clemson teammate Shaq Lawson (who now plays for the Buffalo Bills) also commented on social media … saying, "My brother, I'm hurting right now."

"Someone woke me up from this nightmare.My brother was supposed to come see me tomorrow.I'll love bruh until we meet again."
