Urns with the remains of four sisters and four other family members rested at the altar of a church in upstate New York for their funerals after the limo's crash. last weekend that had cost the lives of 20 people.
The combined service took place a week after the limo filled with 18 people set off a stop sign and crashed at the foot of a long hill in the nearby town of Schoharie. All the passengers in the limousine are dead, as well as two pedestrians.

The funeral honored the memory of Allison King, her sister Abigail Jackson and husband Adam Jackson, her sisters Mary Dyson and Robert Dyson, her sister Amy Steenburg and her husband Axel Steenburg and her older brother Richard Steenburg .

People in mourning lined up for hours on a cold, cloudy Saturday in front of a Catholic church to get to the service of the afternoon.
According to relatives, the group, most of them in their thirties, was celebrating Amy Steenburg 's 30th birthday with a trip to a Cooperstown brewery.

The sudden loss of the group, which had deep ties with the region, caused a wave of grief. A candlelight vigil along the river Monday drew thousands of people, many of whom knew the sisters through work or school. Two of them were still living in Amsterdam.
The Dysons left behind an infant son and the Jackson had two young girls. Amy and Axel got married in June.
While authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident, prosecutors accused the operator, Nauman Hussein, of criminal negligence killing, claiming that he had allowed a driver holding an incorrect license to drive an "unusable" vehicle.
