Gary Clark Jr. has announced a tour to the US in the spring for the launch of his third album, scheduled for early 2019. The blues-rock guitarist will begin the trek on March 9 in Miami, Florida, and will close with a trio of dates – April 5 6th and 7th – in Nashville, Tennessee.
A Chase presale for Clark's dates in Chicago, Illinois and New York, NY, will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 13. A presale for the musician's fan club will be launched on November 13 at 10 am; a Spotify sale starts on Wednesday, November 14 at noon ET; and general tickets will go on sale Friday, November 16 at 10 am local time.
The dates of 2019 follow a brief series of shows for November and early December. His next concert will be on Monday, November 12 – the first of four concerts scheduled for the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, California.
Each full-price ticket will include either a standard CD or a digital copy of Clark's next album. This record, which follows 2015 The story of Sonny Boy Slim, includes a trio of tracks he created during Fox Sports's World Series television coverage.
In October, Clark watched the still untitled disc with a trailer featuring studio clips and audio from new songs. The singer, who covered The Beatles' "Come Together" at the end of 2017, confided to Rolling stone that he explores darker themes – and perhaps draws on modern politics – from the album.
"I do not know if I'll go directly to Trump, but it's something that's going on in life and it's hard not to see it happen," he said. "The things I'm writing and thinking are not necessarily meadows and orchards, do you know what I mean?"
