Gary Numan "devastated" by a tour bus crash

Pop star Gary Numan says he's "devastated" after his tour bus has been involved in a fatal accident in Cleveland, Ohio.

The bus turned right when it struck and killed a 91-year-old man in a crossing, the police said.

Numan canceled his show at the House of Blues in the city.

"All of us are filled with sadness that makes it impossible to consider playing our show tonight," he wrote on Twitter.

"Out of respect, that would have been completely wrong.

"At the moment, all we can think of is the people affected by this terrible tragedy and for them, we send all our love."

The victim, who was not identified by the police, died on the scene. According to The Blast, a priest from a nearby church administered the last rites after the accident.

The driver of the 45-year-old tour bus was not arrested. Police said he did not seem to be weakened, but they would continue to investigate the incident.

The Coast to Coast coach company then issued a statement to the local WKYC news channel, confirming that she had hired the bus for the Numan tour.

"We really regret the loss of life," the statement added. "We have warned our operator and they are investigating this incident.In our 34 years of activity, this has never happened."

It is not known if Numan was on the bus during the accident.

The star is best known for her single Cars in 1979, with other successes including We Are Glass and Are & # 39; Friends & # 39; Electric? His album Savage (Songs from a Broken World) reached number two on the UK charts last year.
