Geeksplainer: Spider-Gwen – Geek.com

We love ourselves spiders here at Geek. The Marvel universe plays with so many different ideas for the vast and unchanged Spider-Verse that it has become an epic range apart. With Spider-Man (Peter Parker) in the lead, spiders like Silk (Cindy Moon), Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew), Spider-Man (Miles Morales) and others (Spider-Ham) are not too far behind . However, if there is a Spider that we need to talk about (and which may be the best of all, do not talk to me) that is in an alternate universe, we need to look at the one and only Gwen Stacy, aka Spider-Gwen.

Previously, she was the first love of Peter Parker's life, with a tragic death in Amazing Spider-Man # 121 (1973) that seemed to push his character into the main one he's in today. There was not much to know about Gwen Stacy in her regular verse, as she was a very discreet and yet important part of Peter's life. Now, Gwen Stacy can not stay dead very long. She is a fascinating character with whom to play and speak, because she is quite the opposite of Parker. Today we are going to take a closer look at one of our favorite spiders with a limited story behind it. Let's dive with Spider-Gwen 101.

With the help of Dan Slott, Gwen Stacy launched herself in comics, but she was performed by brilliant writer Jason Latour and artist Robbie Rodriguez. Nick Lowe, Marvel's editor in Spider-Man, called Latour and Rodriguez to create this incredibly cool world. The first appearance of Stacy took place at Edge of Spider-Verse # 2. In this, we move to Earth-65, where instead of Peter Parker being stung by the radioactive spider, Gwen takes this bite as a champion. She then begins the spider woman's journey. She tries to balance her powers while protecting her normal life in the best way possible.

For Earth-65, think Earth-616 and turn it upside down. In this chronology, Gwen is a drummer of The Mary Janes, directed by Mary Jane Watson. Captain Stacy, Gwen's father, is a bit more of an authoritarian father than the captain of the police. Peter's journey in this alternate universe is very different. Peter and Gwen are friends, but he is brutalized at school. He does not want to feel desperate anymore, so he turns into a Lizard. The lizard is one of the first victims of Spider-Woman and, like everything we never thought, he dies. You think that's a lot? It's only the beginning of what happens to our favorite girl.

After Edge of Spider-Verse 'The success with this new reincarnation of Gwen as Spider-Woman, her stories and popularity have entered the mainstream of Spider-Verse. In fact, after the events of Edgeit becomes an important and recurrent part of the Spider-Verse scenarios. She receives a spider totem that can cross and travel to other spider-worlds. Gwen would return to his world soon enough and get into his own series with Latour and Rodriguez, taking this original trip and turning it into gold. The Spider-Gwen race would have its classic Spider-Villain fights like Vulture. This would allow him to compete with alternative versions of our favorite characters such as Cheif Frank Castle and Matt Murdock (Kingpin). She was also infused and served for a long time in her race.

Of course, with great stories, there are great powers and personality. Gwen is so different from her original character portrait that this mark on Gwen totally overthrows what she was before. (Never forget.) One thing I always admire about Gwen at Latour and Rodriguez's race is his vulnerability. She is a rough version of her old self. Gwen is sarcastic and daring, which makes her a unique and extremely exciting territory.

However, Gwen, at the time of her conception, was still learning and understanding what was going on. Gwen's has probably made a ton of mistakes. She gets up and learns from them the best way to find out. It takes again the numerous incarnations of the Spiders that we know and love in this respect. Of course, this may result in the risk of always being unmasked from time to time, but Gwen remains a soldier. She makes a remarkable appearance in any U-land of which she is a part. In addition, Gwen is a music lover and has created an adorable romance with Miles Morales. A girl after my own heart.

His powers reflect those of Peter Parker, but with unique things. She has unlimited shots formed by moisture in the air that Janet Van Dyne procured her. She's also not a highly skilled fighter, she pulls most of what she knows about Kung-Fu movies just like everyone else should. Gwen also has a great deal of control over her agility and body use to her advantage. She is also competent in problem solving, which varies from father to detective.

There are so many comics published in recent years that tell the story of Spider-Gwen's life and times. Latour and Rodriguez have given it a territory so unexplored that it's hard to stop once you start. If you want to get into Spider-Gwen, here are some highly recommended comics to give you a boost in his world.

No doubt you have to read his debut in the world with Spine Edge Verse # 2. After Edge of Spider-Verse, go to the wider world of Spider-Gwen Vol. 1: Greater power. Unfortunately, the end of Spider-Gwen has already arrived, but what a better time to start playing the whole series. You will also want to take Spider women where Spider-Gwen teams up with Silk and Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) and Spider-Man / Spider-Gwen: Sitting in a treebecause you want to read the world's cutest romance, right? That's what I thought.

Spider-Gwen is a highlight of the gameplay for Heroes Wonders as a team, and later a playable character in the game voiced by Ashley Johnson. She also appears in other games like Avengers Alliance, Marvel Future Fight and Champions competition. In animation, she is seen in the Ultimate Spider-Man VS. The Sinister 6 show voiced Dove Cameron. Cameron also returns to Gwen in the next movie Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, featuring Captain Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Quake, Inferno, Patriot and America Chavez. You can catch it on Disney XD on Sunday, September 30th at 10pm. You can see Gwen roughly this holiday season alongside Miles Morales and Peter Parker in Spider-Man: In the Spider-Verse. Hailee Steinfeld, just as adorable, will perform the character as she rocks in Spider-Verse in this holiday season on December 14th.

Since her incarnation, Stacy has taken flight with a resurrection to which only a character Marvel could dream in this period of comics. She has earned a badass reputation that keeps her in the running to be one of Marvel's best creations. She continues to inspire with her scathing humor, her learned Kung-Fu film and her agility that shames every other spider. So, now you know everything about Spider-Gwen! You'd better start reading these books before December 14th.
