George Kittle of 49ers: Quiet Week 2

Kittle scored two of his four goals for 22 yards in the 30-27 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Kittle saw a lot less goals than his impressive Week 1 show (5-9-90), largely thanks to a gameplay scenario that had the 49ers clock for the majority of the second half. The 24-year-old athlete was targeted in the end zone for what would have been a 15-yard touchdown in the first quarter, but Lions' safety when Diggers held the Kittle jersey and took a penalty of at the game what seemed like a safe score. Teammate Garrett Celek ended up converting a red zone touchdown later in the game, a vulture situation that could sometimes become a nuisance for Kittle's fantasy owners. That said, the sophomore is still considered the tightest team in San Francisco, and he has a much higher offensive cap due to a combination of size and speed. Expect Kittle to be more involved in a potential air shootout against the Chiefs next week.
