George Lucas Passes the Mandalorian Filming for Jon Favreau's Birthday

Thanks to Jon Favreau's Instagram, we are gradually learning more about his future Star wars series The mandalorian. It was there that he shared the synopsis of the series, a glimpse of some familiar props and an image of the character. In the latest writings of the screenwriter and producer, we have received a glimpse of the set that includes rather familiar faces.

Star wars creator George Lucas visited Favreau on The mandalorian together. Favreau shared the picture Friday, which was also his birthday. Favreau's legend is the "birthday surprise" image. While the rest of the image does not reveal much, it shows us a canteen style behind the two.

Lucas was not the only one to greet Favreau either. Another photo on Instagram shows Favreau and Lucas with Dave Filoni, who directs the first episode of The mandalorian. Filoni is well known in the galaxy far and wide for his work on both animated series Star Wars: The clone war and Star Wars Rebels. He was one of five directors announced to direct episodes of The mandalorian earlier this month. The other directors are Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates).

The mandalorian should be released in late 2019 on the Disney Play Disney Play streaming service.
