It is at this point that the annual Patch Pumpkin patch opens, providing family fun fun for families through a host of activities.
The main activity, for many visitors? Choose a pumpkin, of course, or take those very important baby pictures in the pretty square.
But there will be other activities at the 2018 Limoneira Ranch Patch Pumpkin, including five-acre corn.
Note that it takes ten dollars to enter. You will need more money if you want to make your way through tall stems.
It's practically a ritual of autumn, really.
Also be sure to take the time to make up makeup, climb the hay pyramid, visit animals and, yes, marvel at the Pumpkin Chucker, gourd runner.
