Giancarlo Stanton, New York Yankees, hit by his own HR ball rejected by his fan

BOSTON – Giancarlo Stanton has been plunked many times. But by his own running ball at home?

The New York Yankees star flew over the green monster on Saturday, ending up in the seventh inning against the Boston Red Sox. Stanton then had a big surprise from a well-armed supporter while he was at the second goal of Fenway Park.

A man wearing a black T-shirt raised the memory of his first row over the left field wall and the ball jumped and bounced on Stanton. The slugger continued his trot, but turned his head, smiled and seemed to lean his cap toward the fan.

The match was briefly interrupted as the referees gathered near the third base line to indicate the fan to the stadium security officials.

Stanton's solo circuit, the 266th of the Yankees' season, allowed the New York team to advance to 8-2. Gleyber Torres hit a two-run homer in the fourth period to take the best of the Yankees with the Seattle Mariners in 1997 in a single season in league history.
