KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KSNW) – An inflatable colon was stolen from the University of Kansas Cancer Center.

The settler, worth $ 4,000, was stolen from a van parked in Brookside, Kansas City.

"Screening for colorectal cancer is the most powerful weapon we have against colorectal cancer," said John Ashcraft, DO, oncologist surgeon at the University of Kansas Cancer Center. Ashcraft is also co-leader of the cancer prevention and survival research program. "Colon cancer is a difficult topic for many people and the giant inflatable colon, weighing 150 pounds, and measuring ten feet long is an excellent topic of conversation."

The Cancer Coalition has the inflatable colon. The organization is organizing events for a campaign called "Get Your Rear In Gear".

The organization ships the two inflatable dots across the country for events. The settler was on his way to the 5 km that was due to start at 9:00 am at Swope Park after his flight.

Authorities are asking the public to call the Kansas City police to provide him with information about the stolen colon.
