KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) – Someone has seized a giant and inflatable colon used to teach the dangers of colon cancer.

The Cancer Center of the University of Kansas announced Friday in a statement that it had been stolen from a pickup truck in Brookside.

John Ashcraft, a surgical oncologist, says that colon cancer is a difficult topic to tackle and that the giant inflatable colon is an excellent topic of conversation.

It is 10 feet long, weighs 150 pounds and is worth $ 4,000.

It belongs to the Coalition Against Cancer, which organizes walking and running events as part of a campaign called "Get Your Rear In Gear".

The Cancer Coalition ships the inflatable colon across the country to help uniquely see the progression of colon cancer.

Colorectal cancer will be diagnosed in one in 20 people.
