The stolen advertising medium is owned by the Coalition Against Colon Cancer, a non-profit organization that fires a wave of advertising the staggered flight. The inflatable boat even has its own hashtag on social media, #stolencolon.
"Although we miss our educational tool, advertising and awareness of colon cancer is a huge asset. Awareness is the goal of the giant colon. We use it to start conversations. To that end, our poor stolen colon has done his job, but we still want him back, "said Erin Peterson of the Colon Cancer Coalition at WKRC.
The inflatable organ was purchased with funds raised during the "Get Your Rear Gear in Kansas City" events and was shipped to the Midwest for educational and community events.
The "Get Your Rear in Gear" walking and running events are the flagship activities of the coalition. About 40 of them are organized every year throughout the country. For now, the coalition is trying to raise the $ 4,000 needed to buy a replacement settler.
