The athletic director and deputy director of a Tennessee high school was put on leave after his comments on how the girls "ruined everything" became viral.

Jared Hensley made the comment in a video on the ban on sports shorts at Soddy Daisy High School, near Chattanooga.

He explained that the boys may not think that the new dress code was right since men's sports shorts usually touch the knee, but they must follow the rule.

"If you really want someone to blame, blame the girls," Hensley said. "Because they ruined everything, they ruin the dress code, they ruin … well, ask Adam, look at Eve, you can really go back to the beginning of time."

"It will be like that the rest of your life," he added. "Get used to it, keep your mouth shut, suck it, follow the rules."

The original version of the clip is no longer available online, but it was shared on YouTube by the Chattanooga Times Free Press, which unveiled the story.

As a result of the news, some students came to Hensley's defense.

Still, others are not satisfied, especially in the #MeToo movement era, and as the country takes a closer look at how women are treated.
