GM recalls trucks, SUVs for brake problems

Just two days after recalling more than a million vehicles, General Motors issued another recall for 41,000 pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles, citing brake problems, according to the Associated Press.

Vehicles recalled due to free brakes include Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 2500 pickup trucks from 2015 to 2016, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 special service vans, and some Chevrolet Tahoe SUVs designed specifically for police and government agencies.

GM said that the brake pedal pivot nut could loosen, which could prevent the driver from stopping the vehicle.

The Detroit-based company said it would notify customers, who could then have their vehicles repaired by a dealer for free.

GM announced Thursday it was recalling more than a million pickup trucks and SUVs to fix a software issue that could temporarily cause vehicle assisted steering.

Associated Press contributed to this report.
