Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai wrote a letter to Alphabet Inc.

employees Thursday in response to last week’s protest by workers, promising changes in how the company addresses sexual harassment. Pichai promised several changes in reporting procedure and the company’s response, living up to some of the demands that thousands of protesters put forth when they walked out of Google offices last week. “Going forward, we will provide more transparency on how we handle concerns. We’ll give better support and care to the people who raise them. And we will double down on our commitment to be a representative, equitable, and respectful workplace,” Pichai said in the letter, which the company posted publicly on its blog. One demand that the company did not adopt was an employee representative on the board.
