Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa was Thursday in Arizona to lend a hand to US Republican Republican candidate Martha McSally, who remains battling a fierce battle with Democratic rival Kyrsten Sinema.

At a "mini-rally" in the afternoon at Chandler, Ernst and McSally wandered into the GOP offices of the state, thanking McSally supporters and their volunteers for their presence. and encouraging them to vote.

"Drive hard until the last minute," said Ernst to call the bankers and supporters. "I need her in the Senate, guys."

"We are working on it," replied a supporter.

McSally, a two-man American representative from Tucson, is currently in a tight race with Sinema, a three-man US representative from Phoenix. The race was considered a coup by experts and millions of dollars were spent on ads for both candidates.

Ernst, who was elected to the Senate in 2014, is an increasingly familiar face in Arizona politics. She John McCain, R-Arizona, helped the late Senator in his last re-election campaign in 2016. In 2017, she led two campaign events for outgoing Senator Jeff Flake, R-Arizona, who eventually dropped out to re-election. Later in the year.

Hi! Here we have full coverage of the mid-term elections. Let's start!

Earlier in the day, Ernst and McSally participated in a campaign roundtable with veterans in Phoenix and a tour and public meeting on defense issues at MD Helicopters in Mesa.

In an interview with Republic of Arizona After Chandler's event, Ernst, the first female veteran to be elected to the Senate, said she came to fight for McSally because she was a veteran and friend.

"The majority we have in the Senate is lean," Ernst said. "We need to keep this seat and increase the number of seats in the US Senate, which is one of the most decisive elections in this cycle."

She added that McSally is a "phenomenal" person and that she wants to work in the Senate.

McSally stated that she and Ernst were the only women veterans elected to the House or Senate, which she emphasized repeatedly during her interviews with supporters and journalists.

"We spent more time in combat boots than in dresses," she added.

Ernst is just one of the Republican politicians who went to Arizona for McSally. President Donald Trump, the US Senate candidate in Utah and the 2012 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and former President George W. Bush stopped in town. Vice President Mike Pence is expected to speak Friday at a rally in Yuma.

"I think this shows that we have broad support and enthusiasm behind us," McSally said. "But we have common values - we care less about the federal government, less taxes, less regulation … and these are unifying issues."
