In a sudden development, the governor of Jammu and Kashmir, on November 21, dissolved the state assembly, which was in abeyance, soon after rival alliances had claimed the formation of the government.

The governor's reign was blocked at J & K on June 19 for a six-month period following the collapse of the PDP-BJP coalition government after the withdrawal of the saffron party. The State Assembly was also held in abeyance so that political parties could explore the possibility of forming a new government.

The decision of Governor Satya Pal Malik to dissolve the state assembly under the relevant provisions of the state Constitution was announced in an official statement. The state is now moving towards another period of central domination after December 18, when the governor's reign ends.

"J & K needs a firm administration"

The BJP Twitter newspaper tweeted in these terms: "The proposed alliance between the INC and the PDP was dissociated even before its formation. They adopted contradictory positions in the matter of dissolution. one of them supports it and the other opposes it.Being in mind the safety scenario of J & K, can he afford the horse trade and the instability? "

He also added that the state needed a "firm administration".

"J & K needs a strong administration to fight terrorism and not a combination of pro-terrorist parties." The best option in such a scenario is to get to a new election at the earliest This assembly can not produce a stable government, "said the president. the official party handle tweeted.

"I thought I saw everything"

The former chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti, tweeted that she would like to express gratitude to Omar Abdullah and Ambika Soni. "During my twenty-six years of political career, I thought I had seen everything! But, as they say, never say never! Nevertheless, I want to express my deep gratitude to @Omar Abdullah and @Ambikasoni4 to help us achieve what seems impossible, "she tweeted.

She also stated that "the very idea of a grand coalition" gave the Center a "thrill".

"For five months, regardless of our political affiliation, we share the opinion that the state assembly must be dissolved immediately in order to avoid horse trading and defections." Curiously, our plea fell on deaf ears but who would have thought that the very idea of a grand coalition would give such nervousness, "she tweeted.

Code of Conduct

The Electoral Commission will examine whether the standard code of conduct can be imposed in Jammu and Kashmir even before the announcement of new elections in that country. PTI reports that a senior official reportedly said.

The voting committee had recently decided that in states where assemblies would be dissolved prematurely, the Model Code would come into effect immediately. The polling station code, which prohibits the interim government and the ruling party from making political decisions, comes into force on the day of the announcement of the ballot by the EC.

Telangana is the first state where the standard code of conduct came into effect before the election announcement.

"A model code was imposed there (Telangana), the elected government having dissolved the assembly. Here (Jammu and Kashmir), the case is different. Here, the assembly could have been dissolved by constraint … There was no government … We will examine in the coming days if the model code can also be imposed in Jammu and Kashmir " explained the official.

Faxing incident

Both parties tweeted their intention to form the government, after Raj Bhavan's fax machine would not work.

"I tried to send this letter to Rajbhavan. Strangely, the fax is not received. I tried to contact the governor by phone. Unavailable. I hope you see him, @JandkgovernorMs. Mufti tweeted.

In a letter to Mr. Malik, Mr. Lone, whose party has two members, including himself, said he has the support of a number of lawmakers that are greater than the number required to form a government.

"Following our phone conversation regarding government training in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, I formally launch a claim for government formation in the state with the support of the BJP and over 18 other elected members of the state legislature of J & K …, "he said.

Mr. Lone said he would submit the party's letter of support to the BJP legislature and other members supporting the government led by him as and when requests.

"I assure you that with the support of the BJP and other members of the state legislature, I will form a strong and politically stable government tasked with restoring peace, harmony and prosperity in the state and of work on the overall development of the three regions. of the state, "said Lone.

Earlier in the evening, our correspondent Peerzada Ashiq said that J & K Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir had offered his support to the National Conference (NC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to form a unity government in Jammu-and -Cashmere.

"Congress is ready to support the PDP and CN if they want to form a government. The PDP and the NC both discussed the formation of the government. These discussions are informal and we hope that these parties will hold official discussions now, "said Mir.
