Abbott also unveiled a new advertising campaign featuring First Baptist survivors shot in Sutherland Springs last year. Julie Workman, Kris Workman's mother, remembers Abbott's visit to her son in the hospital after a bullet in the back and a paralysis caused by the slaughter.
"Now, Julie Workman knows it's not because her son is paralyzed that her future has limits," Abbott said when appearing before Fox. "As I have demonstrated, someone can suffer a crippling accident and get up and become a governor of the state of Texas."
