The Carolina Panthers received a brutal blow in the first week of the 2018 NFL season. The final event Greg Olsen, who was already suffering from back pain, suffered a foot injury against the Dallas Cowboys and will be away for a long time.
As Mike Garafalo of NFL Network revealed, the exact timeline is not yet known, but Olsen will miss a "significant" amount of time.
The Panthers will now go ahead without one of Cam Newton's most trusted targets, and fantasy football owners may need a tight new finish. As a result of the news, fantasy owners will turn to the quit line to look for a potential replacement and we will be evaluating some of the best options.

Jared Cook, Oakland Raiders (52% ownership)
In the midst of all the drama surrounding the Raiders in the off-season, it's easy to forget that Cook had one of the best years of his NFL career in 2017 with Oakland. He totaled his second yards (688) and receptions (86) while working in an attack that struggled powerfully.
To accompany this, he took the starting line in the first week against the Los Angeles Rams. Cook captured nine passes for 180 yards and was the prime target of quarterback Derek Carr. The closest player in the category was offensive midfielder Jalen Richard, who received 11 targets while no receiver-general saw more than four targets.
As a bonus, Cook draws a draw against the Denver Broncos, who have solid defense, but allowed four catches for 116 yards and a touchdown in the tight finals of the first week.
Ricky Seals-Jones, Arizona Cardinals (29% owned)
A perfect follow-up is that of the Cardinals, who will now draw with the team chosen by Cook during the week 1.
While Seals-Jones was disappointed in the first game, catching only three passes for 19 yards, the Arizona Cardinals offense as a whole was a little painful to watch. If he had not come out of retrenchment yet, we would have a completely different conversation.
Expect the 23-year-old to play an important role in Arizona's game plan. The difficulties encountered by the offensive and Sam Bradford in the first game were disturbing, but there are many reasons to be optimistic about the ability to play Seals-Jones.
Will Dissly, Seattle Seahawks (2% property)
Dissly was arguably the most surprising player of the opening week of the day. He not only caught 3 out of 5 targets for a total of 105 yards and a touchdown, but the injury suffered by Seattle's most senior player, Doug Baldwin, could add even more work to the rookie.
The Seahawks were hoping to find a replacement for Jimmy Graham, and they seem to have succeeded. Now, fantasy football owners can find their replacement for Olsen in the form of a player who has virtually no fantasy list.
