Griffin Hospital organizes prostate screenings

DERBY – Griffin Hospital will run free prostate cancer screening sessions with a sport hatchback from 4 to 18 hours. Oct. 17 at the Griffin Hospital Cancer Center, 350 Seymour Ave., Derby.

Prostate cancer screening is recommended for 50-year-old men. High-risk men, including African-American men and men with a first-degree relative (father or brother) with prostate cancer before the age of 65, should be screened at 45 years old. prostate cancer before the age of 65) should be tested at the age of 40 years.

In addition to screenings, participants and their family members can enjoy a festive buffet at the Cancer Center. The screening is sponsored by Griffin's Health Initiative for Men, which encourages men to exercise and educate men about men's health issues such as prostate cancer and colorectal cancer.
