Ground beef recalled at Target, Sam's Club

SAN DIEGO – Ground beef sold to Target, Sam's Club and several other national retailers has been recalled due to a deadly outbreak of E. Coli, reported the USDA Tuesday.

The recall involves more than 132,000 pounds of beef products manufactured and packaged by Cargill Meat Solutions of Colorado on June 21st. 86R "inside the inspection mark of the USDA.

The items were shipped to local retailers in Sam's Clubs, Safeway and Meijer stores. Target stores in California, Florida and Iowa also received the recalled meat.

The recalled meat was linked to 17 diseases and one death from July 5 to 25, according to the USDA.

Health officials warn consumers because products can be frozen and still in their freezers.

It is advisable to anyone whose meat is referred for recall to throw it or return it to the place of purchase.
