A Wyoming hunting guide was found dead after being attacked Friday by a Florida bear and hunter.

The 37-year-old guide Mark Uptain and his client Corey Chubon returned to the site of a lunatic killing Friday morning in the Teton Desert. Chubon, who was hunting at the bow, shot elk on Thursday, but he and Uptain could not find the animal at that time.

The pair located the carcass and prepared to remove it when it was loaded by a bear.

Chubon could escape and take his gun, news site online Buckrail reports, but was not able to safely shoot the bear, which was then atop Uptain. Chubon told the authorities that he had thrown his gun at Uptain before fleeing the scene to ask for help.

Chubon was injured in the legs, chest and arms and was flown to a Jackson hospital, according to Teton County spokesman Billy Kirk. He was released from the hospital on Saturday, the same day the authorities found the body of Uptain.

Local reports indicate that two bears were present, but the second did not hurt either.

Brad Hovinga, regional wildlife supervisor for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, told the Jackson Hole News & Guide that he is convinced that the bear responsible for the attack is a grizzly bear.

Hovinga told the newspaper that wildlife officials were trying to catch the bear, but he did not know if the bear would be killed.

A June article published in Jackson Hole News & Guide described Uptain, a business owner from Casper, Wyoming, husband of his wife Sarah and father of five.

"I like spending time with Sarah and the kids, serving on the board of First Baptist church elders, riding horses, hunting and fishing, guiding guests hunting, biking, playing games." fail and stay in shape, "said Uptain.
