Someone wearing a "Scream" mask is on the run after shooting a teenager and a man in Manhattan, police said.
Gunshots sounded shortly before Thursday 2 pm Thursday on 163rd Street in Washington Heights, as the Halloween festivities ended, the NYPD said.
The police initially stated that the shooter was wearing a Michael Myers mask, the naughty mark in the "Halloween" movies, but that he could have confused the movie with "Scream".

Witnesses confirmed that the mask was "Ghostface", the hollow-eyed, lost-eyed den adopted by several characters in the cult horror series "Scream".
Police said he had shot a 17-year-old girl once in the torso and twice on a 24-year-old man, once in the leg and torso.
Both victims were taken to hospital in critical condition. There was no immediate update of their condition a few hours later, but police said they were both expected to survive.
