Gunman 'opens fire in the Memphis Purple Haze nightclub wounding at least 4'

Several people would be injured during a shootout inside a Memphis nightclub.

The shooting allegedly took place at the Purple Haze nightclub shortly before 4 am in downtown Tennessee.

Eric Lipford, whom Twitter identifies as the executive producer of WREG News Channel 3, has published an article on the latest news just before 10am.

The WREG video, posted on Facebook, shows cords thrown at each end of the street and several police cars on the scene.

The newspaper reported that four people were injured.

An on-site Beale Street reporter reported hearing numerous reports of people shot dead and noted that a fire truck was also present.
