After his battle with President Donald Trump on Twitter, Axl Rose fought a new enemy this weekend in Abu Dhabi: a debilitating disease. Despite repeated vomiting, the leader of the group Guns N 'Roses refused to cancel the planned concert of the group in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Instead, Rose struggled with his illness for as long as he could, although the series was finally interrupted when he could not continue.
"They had me on intravenous and several injections, because I was sick today," Rose told the concert audience, captured in a fan video. "I have been vomiting for about five hours. So, instead of canceling, I'll do the best show we can do for you. "
Slash guitarist and bassist Duff McKagan, two members of the band Rose, confirmed Rose's illness in post-show tweets. Slash said the leader was "seriously ill," while McKagan praised his courage. Nevertheless, Rose could not pass the whole series; the selection lists show that the band performed about 17 songs, slightly shorter than their typical set of 28 songs.
"Axl Rose made a miracle," tweeted McKagan. "The man was more than sick and did something that I have not seen in 40 years that I play."
The band's current tour is expected to end next month with a show in Hawaii.
