Stefani, 48, was assembled show full of personal touches, including home videos and photos that his father has taken throughout his childhood. The idea that she said, was to leave the fans in the ups and downs of her life – with the present, she has sprung up, being a "truly incredible place." A reason? His two-year relationship with his boyfriend, country singer Blake Shelton.

Being able to spend more time with the people she loves was another motivating factor for Stefani to say yes to his last gig. Stefani, mother of three sons of her marriage to rocker Gavin Rossdale, says that, like many parents, she fights the idea of "how much [I] wants to indulge in her own life." However, his boys Kingston, 12, Zuma, 9 and Apollo, 4, will all be in Las Vegas this summer.

If they care about his show, however, is another matter.

"Children do not want to know that!" she insisted. "They want you to be their mother, so that's what I do: I got a text from Kingston before going on stage, I was shocked, and I thought to myself: "Mom, break a leg, I love you".

Surprises, however, are one thing that she is very open to these days. When asked what is the next step for her, personally and professionally, Stefani is not sure. However, from where she stands now, it does not seem to matter.

"I'm really grateful for every passing moment," she said. "All I know is that I have a lot to hope for."
