As TMZ noted, Halsey announced the news via a message posted to his Instagram account on Tuesday, July 3rd. "Normally, I keep this kind of thing private, but as an audience, I feel the need to inform my fans. The old singer wrote, starting her breaking announcement message. She continued, writing,
G-Eazy and I take a little time. I look forward to continuing the passage of time devoted to my art and my career, and the duration of my tour.
Halsey ended the announcement by saying that she wishes her former best the best. She also thanked the fans for "respect for our privacy right now," which seems to be Halsey-speak for "please leave all questions and comments at the door, thank you." For all fans who have watched the seemingly heavenly romance of Halsey and G-Eazy play over the last year (on social media, in the news, and even in some of the most popular music tracks of the year ), learning to let go is probably a task easier said than done.
